Hardeep Singh Nijjar Killing: The Indian Embassy in Canada is on alert mode ahead of the anniversary of the killing of Khalistani leader Hardeep Nijjar in 2023. Protests are expected outside the Indian Embassy in Canada on Tuesday (18 June). Separatist group Sikh for Justice has already called for a ‘Citizens Court of Canada’ in front of the Indian Consulate in Vancouver.
According to the report of the English website Hindustan Times, special prayers have been announced at the Guru Nanak Sikh Gurudwara in Surrey. This is the same place where Khalistani leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar was shot dead on June 18, 2023.

A senior official said India has already briefed Canadian authorities on Tuesday (18 June) on the security concerns at its missions. Both diplomatic security personnel and local law enforcement have so far prevented any major incidents during the several protests held outside the High Commission in Ottawa and consulates in Vancouver and Toronto since the murder.
